Client Success


Client success is my success-my job is only done when the client has everything they need from our platform and I plan my time around this view as I find it helps keep the passion strong! The process starts with a detailed discussion with Payslip’s client operations manager-this is when I learn about the new client, their requirements, any specific needs they may have and what kind of operational timelines we are working to. This gives me a good insight to the client, helps me plan my working week with my team and create a list of tasks to complete. I enjoy this kind of structure, but I am always mindful of the fact that plans change, and I need to be ready to change course quickly should the need arise. Being flexible is important and multi-tasking in order to meet the needs of the client is a big part of the job.


My working week


The client usually assigns a project manager on their side and I am in regular contact with this person for the duration of the onboarding. I work with this person to onboard the client data onto the Payslip platform. To do this I need to have detailed discussions around what kind of data they wish to see inside the platform and also learn if they have any specific requirements. I usually find that there are a couple of things that each client wishes to have quick access to on our platform and it is different for everybody. I discussed timelines for delivery, prioritize the features they want to see on the platform and then sit with my team to discuss the best way we can deliver what the client needs and also, examine how we will deliver this against the current workloads we have with other customers. There are 3 of us and we assign tasks, support each other and work together to deliver for the client.


Data, people and process


Working with data is always part of the process here at Payslip. Standardizing data feeds is something our clients really benefit from. I work with their ICP (in country provider) calculation files, employee data and payroll elements like currency, taxes and employer contributions. I work in specific templates to arrange this data in a way that meets the client requirements and then upload it onto the Payslip platform once the work is complete. I take calls with developers and the head of product here at Payslip to find the best ways to arrange and deliver this data to the platform. We also share ideas for potential improvements and discuss the different ways we can deliver better results for the client. There is weekly client calls and regular email updates to ensure all stakeholders in the process are aware of our progress. This is where I am able to request any additional information that I need and manage expectations around delivery. I work with a strong team, who are very focused, and this positions us well to deliver an implementation process to the client in a fast and efficient way.


Challenging and rewarding


I would not describe my role as easy, but I find that figuring out solutions to the challenges that arise is where the rewards comes from. I don’t expect things to be straightforward, but I have a lot of confidence in our technology and my team. The solution is there, sometimes it takes a bit of investigation along with trying new things to get to it. I enjoy interacting with clients and it is a great feeling when I learn that our platform has transformed how they deliver their global payroll. They often have some great suggestions themselves and it turns into a collaboration and this is a good environment to be in as both sides are working towards the same goal. It is a genuine pleasure when I give the client a tour of the Payslip platform and show them the great features they can start using. This gives them great confidence in the capabilities of our platform, and I enjoy being able to exceed their expectations.
